CAN bus help please
Hi there,
I recently bought a CANM8-NAV to get access to a couple of things like a 12v lights trigger and reversing wires for my new head unit.
The only thing is to I need to wire it into one of the many CAN bus connections. I've done a little reading and theres apparently one behind the glove box but the only thing there seems to be high amp wires into and out of the fuse box. Also near the drivers feet but I haven't a clue where to start with that.
Can anyone point me in the right direction where and how I might easily splice into the bus? Ideally somewhere fairly near the stereo too?
ThanksF2 GS TD4

I don't know what the cable colours are etc but I think there are 2 CAN buses on FL2. High speed and medium speed.
The HS one is used for powertrain and safety critical stuff and the MS is for body control etc. I'd guess that infotainment stuff will be on the MS bus.
Have you looked on http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm? Might be some info there???Discovery 4 HSE - Aintree Green

Look on page 9, ARCHITECTURE OVERVIEW MS CAN CIRCUIT
There are two relatively accessible locations:
1. Base of RH side pillar A, under the foot carpet.
Connector C21C, pin 5, CAN H, grey-orange and pin4, CAN L, violet-orange
The picture below is for LHD cars, but the connectors should be in the same position for other cars.

2. Diagnostic connector
Pin 3, CAN H, grey-orange and pin 11, CAN L, violet-orange.

Thanks
Ah, so these are both on the right hand side of the car?
This diagram would be for the LHD model.
Any recommendation as to which of these you would splice into? Would you just cut into those two wired and reconnect with a crimping tool?F2 GS TD4
