Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

I need to check my service book again. I have a 56 plate FL2 but its only done 38k. It's been serviced every year (I think) and I think 45k is its next due milestone? HSE, td4 - Stornoway Grey - full alpaca interior - 2011 front facelift - privacy glass.
Just added side steps, replaced the yellow side lights & body coloured handle and wing mirror covers. Now for the spoiler!

As yours is a '56 plate '07, I assume it was reg early 07. Annual services were due at 12 month intervals early 08, 09, 10, 11, 12. Next is early 13. ie, 6th service, a 'B' service and second brake fluid change. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Auto Sumatra Black

Just had my forth year service done yesterday by Mick at Parkside Garage in Huddersfield. Mick was an LR apprentice trained mechanic. Service and MOT cost me 」335. Plus needed brake pads front and rear, that cost 」130. All in all I was happy with the service I received there. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Evening everyone,

Some advice needed please, just phoned main dealer for a price for a service - 」574 Shocked
Told the young lady all the cars details etc and she then let the computer spit out the price stating it needed a full on 4 year service.

Main dealer service history to date as follows:

Production Date: Sep 2009

First Service: Mar 2011 @ 11K Miles, "A" service

Second service: Sep 2012 @ 25K Miles, "A" service + Brake fluid change

Third service: Unsure but told by dealer it was serviced just before we bought it in Feb 2013. No stamp in book for this one but showing as carried out on dealers computer, apparently.

Car currently has 33K on the clock and no service count downs or warnings have displayed on the info screen in the 15 months we've owned it.

Do I need the A or B service and when? Gut feeling is I'm thinking the B service. Also, do I wait for the service indicator to come on or get it booked in now owing to the uncertainty of the alleged 3rd service particulars?

Any advice gladly received.

Thank you MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Pity Solihull may be a bit far from Stafford Land Rover but the service I got from Stafford was excellent. Just one example I had a wing mirror broken buy a muppit in a country lane driving too fast. I asked if the Wolverhampton Stratstone could even just take a look and see what was wanted to repair it and I got a very negative response to put it mildly. Rang Stafford "yes bring it up any time and we will see what we can do for you" bearing in mind I had never used this dealership before.
Although they were busy a mechanic took a look checked in the store room but not one in stock. Fair enough I thought, but he said give us a ring tomorrow and we should have it here first thing in the morning. Rang next day, yes they had it in and bring the car up and they would fit it straight away, which they did. You can't really ask better than that. I had already booked a service with Wolverhampton Land ~Rover but cancelled it when Stafford offered me the same service and Mot at a far cheaper cost and also a 2 year service plan which I accepted

Throughout the whole dealings with Stafford all I can say they look after customers way above my expectations and I had I not moved down south would go no where else. In fact in about 50 years of car ownership I can't remember getting such good service

Hopefully I can find a dealership just as good in East Sussex but would have to be exceptional to compare with the way Stafford look after their customers Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

Dave, it looks like your services have been a bit random - all late on calendar. There should have been a service one year after first going on the road and annually thereafter. More frequently if over 15,000 miles has elapsed between services. The brake fluid change seems to have been early though. (3 years recommended). I suggest your next service should be a "B" type as you 'may' still be on the original fuel filter Surprised
The price quoted is a bit steep. Shop around, you should get mid to high 」300,s

Realspeed - Spookily enough, car was supplied and sold from new and had the two stamped services from Stafford LR so a quick blast up the M6 wouldn't be a problem if the price isn't quite so eye watering as my usual main dealer. There's a few around my neck of the woods and slightly further afield so I'll give them all a ring and see what they come up with.

Dunkley - agree the two services are a bit random so I'm wandering how the previous owner managed to comply with the new car warranty requirements with regards the servicing regime???

I'm going for the full "B" service, just to be on the safe side anyway. Still cant understand the service indicator not showing up yet though? Its been more than 12 months since last service. MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Look out for stolen Service Stamps.

"Some" mainline Dealers with a particularly high turnover of staff (no names mentioned) are renowned for nicking the Book Packs/Service Stamps et al, knowing full well that they command a fortune on the black market and various auction sites by unscrupulous motor traders.

Moving to a fully computerised system is a good thing by JLR in my opinion...whilst it won't totally eradicate the problem, it will certainly help address the issue that has been going on WAYYYYY too long! Foraging near Gaydon....

After a few minutes ringing around 4 x main dealers, got a price difference of nearly 」150 between the expensive and cheapest quote. Just waiting for a colleague recommended independent to get back to me in Stafford.

He'll be cheaper still hopefully MY2010 TD4 HSE Santorini Black, 19" Alloys, Almond Leather, Lux Pack, Rear Spoiler, Adaptive Xenons

Anyone had a 4th service done recently? just to gauge current prices. Being quoted 」350 for local LR Independent, 」332 Team Valley and $420-490 at dealers. Seems a bit steep.

Other than the fuel filter is there anything else done at this service to account for 」120+ difference between A and B service?

Also getting quotes of nearly 」200 for rear pads at dealers. Rolling Eyes

Air filter on the B service so that's another 」25 I guess..

And I just bought genuine rear pads for 」35 on eBay. Do 'em yourself - it's quite easy.

mine was the same with them Gingerlord, so much for loyalty discount Laughing

I rang Stratstone in Nottingham and got my 4th service/6 years for 」400 plus a Jag courtesy car. Gordon Lamb did then price match them, but couldn't get me in for a further 6 weeks due to a queue for their courtesy cars.

Im not 100% convinced that a full and proper service was actually done at Stratstone, but their level of customer service was excellent.

I have always used Colemans Garage over near designer outlet by M1 J28 and really only went to LR to get the stamp for my first service. Colemans are IMO an excellent garage.

My 59 reg XS auto (58k miles) is due for its B service so rang up my usual LR dealer, Guy Salmon at Stratford. Quoted
」570.50 !!!!!!
Rang local inde who specializes in Jag/LR and quoted 」299. Included replacing all filters, wheel off brake inspection et al.
Guess who is doing the service?
Guy Salmon have rung back twice ' to see if they can sort something' but have stated they cannot match the inde.
Said the price was an LR figure. So much for loyalty. Anybody had any similar quotes?
