Well, I got my 4th service done at Stratstone Newcastle on tuesday, they priced matched after all, £267.00, and had a courtesy Freelander SD4 for 24 hours while they had mine in. Lots of pros and cons for the new one, love the new engine, and face lifted look, it was also in white, and had some very favourable comments made about it. Will have to think long and hard before I make the plunge though! |

Depends which service it is CW, my local LR dealer Farnells is £279 for an A service and £379 for a B service (both including vat). |

4th service just carried out by Guy Salmon in Bristol. They picked up the car from home and delivered it back washed, vacuumed out and tyres dressed. They've changed all the filters according to the invoice and the MOT came included all for £240.

I had a look at the air filter and the oil. The air filter is new and the oil is certainly cleaner than when I checked it last week. The oil filter housing is cleaner than the rest of the engine bay so it looks as if it's been changed. If someone can tell me where the fuel filter is I'll have a look to see if there are signs that it's been worked on. They certainly did'nt swap the wheels on the axles as I was already looking to change the front n/s due to excess outer edge wear. Had wheel alignment etc checked and adjusted last week. The inner edge of that tyre had plenty of tread left. (That'll teach me to use the depth gauge more often.)

Lancaster Reading quoted me £500 for the 60k service and even an independent was coming in at well over £300. Up till now I've kept with the dealer for the sake of the warranty and the value of the service history but since we're now out of warranty and not planning to sell for a long time yet I decided that at these prices it was time to go DIY (as I used to do with our Discoveries). Plus, there's something very satisfying about fitting your own brand new filters and pouring in the new, fully synthetic oil (the dealer always used semi-synthetic). OK, I've not valeted the interior but for a saving of some £350, net of parts costs, I can live with that! |

Just been quoted £499 from Hunters Southampton for a 4 year service. From the previous posts there seems to be some vast variations in the price dealers are charging for servicing. I take it Land Rover do not have a recommended pricing structure for servicing. Remember there are never problems, just new challenges |
