Mine progressed from "sticky" to "squeaky". It's now booked in for the 19th. I'll keep you posted. |

Back from Hunter's (cleaned & polished) & fixed! No detectable squeak, and the shift is better than it has ever been. They followed the workshop bulletin (i.e. it's a known problem, with a fix), replaced the component in the gearbox linkage, and oiled and greased as required.

I was going to start this very thread today!! Mine started squeeking on the way home from work....not the gear box, but the gear shifter...Was wondering if anyone else was suffering the same... Mine is at 4800mls....Guess I should call up the dealer... '57 FL2 GS Sumatra Blk, Tints, Winterpack, Dodgylooking TowBar, roof rails, Front & Rear LED Indicators, Clear Side repeaters(Led), LED Rear Position/Brake lights, Additional Power-point in the boot & Brighter luggage Illumination fitted Last edited by mburton2 on 21st Feb 2008 7:25 pm. Mine started squeeking , but it only seems to be when I am selecting 1st , 3rd and 5th gear, it does not happen when selecting any other gear, have reported the problem and I hope it will be sorted when my FRL2 is in for its first service. WE will see. |
