Where do people buy their wiper blades from. I have been quoted £54 for a set of three from my local main dealer, and this seems rather too expensive for me!

It's about the right price for genuine ones, try Duckworths, they price them at £44 and free postage to forum members.

Just don't waste your money with Halfords ones, I have a set if you want them, only used them for one week, the only time I've known wipers that sweep a dry screen with no noise but when it rained they screeeeeeetch screeeeeetc

Lidl and Aldi keep having wipers in German made and i think excellent quality,about £3:99 per wiper ive never had a problem with them.

Whilst here in CH the wipers are part of the original 3yr LR warranty her Ladyship's FL2 comes out of that in November so I'd be interested to know if you have the Lidl or Aldi product codes for the FL2 wipers you are referring to. Both these supermarket chains have recently opened about 25kms from here.

And, if you think GBP£54 is expensive - the price here in Switzerland will have you contemplating euthanasia

A year ago a set of replacement wipers cost me £40 from my local LR dealer. Not sure about the current price but would be surprised if they have increased by £14.

my sister-in-law is a teacher at a private school in Geneva, but commutes each week from Swindon, where they own a farmhouse.

they have recently bought an apartment outside Geneva ( in France ) for her to live in rather than rent, which she has been doing for the last four years or so.

without knowing the actual figures, etc she must be making big bucks in Geneva to enable her to maintain this lifestyle.

I, for one, buy supermarket ones (Champion or Bosch for example, because on all of them is written Made in China) and then, because it's easy, I am changing only the rubbers blades from one to another.
In this way, with only a few quids, I have new wipers.
Even if they last only about half a year, in the long run, it's still cheaper...
And not the forget the joy of the handywork...

e-bay from wiperblades.co.uk. Absolutely no problem with them. LR ones are supposed to have a special softer rubber compound, hence the price. So they say.

my local VW dealer has a separate car accessory shop and they are about £8 each, they seem to last a couple years.
