Well me FL2 had it's first fault today in 4 years ownership. Closed the front passenger window and all I got was a cranking sound from the door then the window vanished down into the door,the only way I could get the window up was by pulling it up by hand and it feels like it's not connected to anything, keeps just dropping down plus some steel wire came up as well which I'm sure it going to be part of the window mechanism.
Rang a mate and he told me this was common on the FL1 but not had any FL2 in his work shop with this fault. Well he is now. He sure it going to need a window mechanism,rang main dealer £118.
Can't grumble to much it's been fitted free and the last Land Rover I had it was tools out nearly every week.

May need help on this one.getting the window fixed this Friday so I've had to jam the window in place till then.
But shouldn't the alarm go of if the window is pulled down and you stick your head and arms in the car,cus mine didn't!!
How can you check this,have press the alarm button on the fob and that works.

I take it you double clicked the fob as this puts on the internal sensors.

Yes I always do the double click on the fob which also deadlocks doors and that working ok. But the inside sensors are not picking any movement up in the car. This could have been like this for some time,it something you don't check. I think if someone had done as smash and grab to the car with out opening the doors the alarm wouldn't have gone off.

It is something we take for granted that it works, at a quiet spot I'll set my alarm with a window down and test it out.

I lowered my windows today at a quiet spot, set the alarm by clicking the fob twice within three seconds and waved my hands inside the car, thumped the seats whilst shouting lalalalala

Nothing, no alarm sensed by movement at all so I wonder if the alarm refuses to set 'movement detection' inside if it senses the window motors are not in the closed position or does it not work.

Could someone else try this for me please

yeah the quiet spot was part way up your farm entrance.

Got my window fixed yesterday for only the price of the part (£118) But all I did was pull the window down by hand and no alarm, you just could reach in to car ie: glove box ect and no movement was detected.I think the window motor was in rise Position but can't be sure.

Easiest test is to just lock someone in the car (test purpose only) lock the car wait a min or 2 and get them to move around.
Saw it the other day in a supermarket car park when an elderly women was locked in the car while the person popped into the shop it was quite funny seeing her move and triggering the alarm not realising she could have open the door from inside she just sat there with the alarm blasting.

Maybe you don't have the interior monitoring feature installed.
Look up to your car ceiling and see if you have that ultrasonic device (emitter/receiver) installed, like in the picture below.
If you don't have that hump, you don't have the interior monitoring so you can wave your hands all you want inside, the alarm won't go off.

@Ben, with the FL2 on 'double lock' you can't even get out from inside as the door handles are inhibited inside and outside.

Is no-one going to try it to see if their movement alarm works? My wife refuses to be a guinea pig
