Reading this thread, no one has actually posted that their alarm does work.

It really surprises me that everyone on here are so unconcerned about their cars security.

Well EY I have been very concerned about her Ladyship's FL2 security (her emergency rescue medi red rucksack full of powerful life saving drugs etc and weighs over 15kgs - I've hualed it up a mountainside is carried onboard) and the apparent lack of full functionality of her two key fobs. So much so that I raised this lack of "global locking" etc with initially the supplying dealership just a couple of months into ownership, then again and again only to be told they'd reset them and all's well now. Then with the local LR approved service centre when they opened for business in 2010 with the same story - we've reset them all's well. Yeah just like you couldn't reconfigure the CCF for the front parking sensors Evil or Very Mad

So now I have absolutely no faith in ever asking these chaps here in CH to do any reprogramming - and - we never leave the FL2 unattended with EMP red rucksack in there - thank goodness the Yeti's are now in service at the medical centre. Whistle

So if there's any official LR White Knight out there in Blighty when we come over this October who'll put this right under her warranty then do please get in touch. Your reputation will be enhanced, the security of powerful medicines will be enhanced, and you'll win a new paying customer for other services and products Thumbs Up

Been to Stratstones and were quite helpful Shocked The Tecnician Unlocked it Locked it again, said no its not right, must be a window open or the Sun roof, no there was not, sat in it Locked it, Double Locked it, no, the alarm would not go off, then tried the same procedure in a new one in the showroom, no it didn't work either. He feels something is not configured correctly and needs to be reconfigured, will find out more on the third of Sept when they do the service.

I am half minded to have this thread pulled, some little urchins may be trolling around thinking the cars are going to let them in and out without sounding an alarm. Evil or Very Mad

It seems the alarm will only trigger in this condition if a door is opened, if you double lock it you won't be able to open a door and the alarm will not go off, single lock it and if a door is opened the alarm will work Question

I'm surprise that no one has posted with over 900 views to this topic that their alarm is working fine.

I haven't tried mine, but if it's volumetric, if it knows your in the car, sitting still, your volumes the same if you start moving

It changes when you reach in enough to increase the volume

Anyway, alarm or not, they'll still smash your windows, so I'm not worrying about it, but I Have put a poll to vote if you want the thread pulling out of sight Thumbs Up

The alarm if set should detect movement inside the vehicle, an arm, a dog, or a moth all these things should be enough to set the alarm off, at the moment you could have a dance in the back but the alarm wouldn't go off.

It would still be good to hear if anyone's alarm does actually work in the Double Locked Mode.

Mine works! I use it as a child monitor when I leave the little in there sleeping...! Wink

As I said mine works when the little critter is left in there long enough - as some one said it monitors displacement of volume in the air - have you tried throwing a brick through the window?

In all seriousness, I think the movement needs to be static for some time befor it sets. Maybe place a remote car in there or something??? Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Single lock and you can open the doors from the inside.
Double lock and the doors are dead locked, but the dog sets the alarm off after a couple of minutes.

Seems mines working properly AGAIN Very Happy Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

It is supposed to set the alarm off when it detects a change in air pressure, the vehicle is moved/tilted and internal movement, or are you saying Andy's dog F@%ts Question

I'm the one that F@%ts and blames it on the dog.

Must be very sensitive as the dog is a miniture Yorkie and smaller than most cats. Does like to meander around the inside of the car for a few minutes until she settles though. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
