Hi UKDEN. Sounds promising. I'm going to be calling in my local garage at the week-end and ask them to take a look. Fingers crossed. |

That drives me nuts when the wheel isn't central, it really does. When I had my clutch done the wheel was massively out so I took it back to get it centralised, then took it back again as it still wasn't right......got there in the end. Had the same a few years back on the Vectra (remote buttons nigh on at 7 and 11 o'clock |

I find the hard bit is finding a decent garage. I want it bob on so it's a case of finding somebody who can do the job. It drives me absolutely bonkers. |

This should have been done when they did the tracking. Normally the steering wheel should be centred first (they use a bracket that jams between the steering wheel and the seat to hold it in position) and then the tracking/geometry can be set and all will be OK. John

Yep. Tell me about it. My thoughts are that when this has been done, it still hasn't led to my steering wheel being "bob on" which is why I'm becoming increasingly annoyed with the whole issue. From the sounds of it, although my tracking is well within tolerance (I have printouts to prove this) there still needs to be an ever so slight adjustment made to my tracking rods to just bring the steering wheel to where I want it to be. |

As JTS has stated the wheel needs to be central before any tracking adjustments are made.

Perhaps it wasn't done properly on my vehicle. All I know is I am experiencing the issue despite having a 4 wheel laser alignment, etc. I'm keen to pursue the option which UKDEN has suggested. |

I've also read that adjustments can be made to the drag link for minor steering wheel adjustments i.e.

Had exactly that problem on mine when I bought it last December. Riders (formerly Carrs) of Truro sorted it out pdq without charge - don't know what they did but it's been fine ever since. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

I am not sure that the FL2 has a drag link! Is it not rack & pinion with the trackrods fitted directly to the rack with ball joints? Please correct me if I am wrong. Now: 2012 FL2 SD4 XS Orkney Grey Previously: 2007 D3 TDV6 XS Tonga Green Before that: 2003 FL1 TD4 "Kalahari" Black |
