Lithium or Silicone grease?

I need to lubricate the gear change linkage/cables under bonnet (mainly metal) and the gear selector under the gaitor (mainly plastic.....of sorts), apparently silicone is best suited where plastic is involved and lithium for metal Question

Which one would be best suited to both app's?

Both are safe on plastics, lithium seems to be used more on vehicles I have seen

Lithium it is then Thumbs Up

and it worked like a charm........liberal dose under gaitor on all moving parts and linkage under bonnet, what with a new driveshaft and MAF sensor the car feels like it's floating along again, not bad for an old 'un with over 100k on the clock Smile

If any of you have a sticky/notchy/stiff gearchange get spraying and it should be slick as a slick thing, makes the drive far more pleasant for it.
