Norway 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
16 or 17 MT or AT?!Some offroading, but mostly asphalt

Hi!
I am currently running on 275\45\20 and want to try something completely new!
Looking for a M\T or a A\T tyre that is good offroad and smooth on asphalt.
I also wonder if it is possible to fit 16" wheels on the HSE TD4? If so what offset and width in combination with tyre size?
I am currently looking at the Toyo Open Country in 245/75/16
http://www.europdekk.no/resampler.aspx?typ...try_MT.jpg
and the Yokohama 245/65/17
http://www.europdekk.no/resampler.aspx?typ...o_go12.jpg
Other options is:
Toyo Open Country M\T
BF Goodrich All Terrain TA
Kumho Road Venture MT KL71
General Grabber AT, HT OWL
General Grabber AT2

All these sizes can be run on our FL2(based on my HSE with standard fitted 235\60\18 ) within the 5% limit(not tested for rubbing!!):
225x75x16
235x75x16
245x75x16
255x70x16
265x65x16
255x65x17
265x60x17
245x70x17
245x65x17
255x60x18

Thanks!
Eirik FL2, TD4 HSE

hummm, 255 60 18 - I use 255 55 18, much close rolling diameter to the original sizes

Hi Mr.!
If I go 18 I will go for 60 for the extra sidewall Wink 140,25mm vs 153mm.
Still I would like the 16" with 245x75 and 183,75mm sidewall.
What tyres are you using? FL2, TD4 HSE

Pretty unusual/rare size for (standard) alloys on FL2. But you can find aftermarket ones on Ford yard.
Tires... this is another thing. Quite the opposite. A lot of 16" off-road tire sizes/options compared with 17 or 18.

Thanks Alex! What is the ET and width of the OEM 16" and what size tyres are run on them?
Just a little unsure about what size I could run on the tyres. I really like the 245\75\16 but not sure if they will rub.? FL2, TD4 HSE

6.5 x 16, ET50.
As for the tire's sizes and them touching, I don't know....
I suppose it all comes to trial and error.
