I just got back home from a drive and there is paint type stuff splattered along the lower passenger side.

Tar remover, followed by claying might sort it. |

If it hasn't dried you could try some white spirit if you think it may be oil based. |

road tars black, but have you driven over any fresh white lines?

+1 for tar remover. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

give it a good spray with WD40, leave on for a few minutes, spray more WD40 on a cloth and gently wipe off the paint.

if all else fails petrol could shift it, try other means first At work

Paraffin - if you can get it in the UK. Removes most deposites and will not damage your paint. I always wax the area afterward. |

Thanks guys - i had a quick go with tar remover and white spirit but it didn't seem to do anything....

Try get a decent photo and post it on detailing world, them lot have come across most things

I got a fair bit of gloss paint off my D3 by leaving some autoglym super resin polish spread over it for 30 mins or so and then cleaning off with a cloth covered in more of the same
