Not misled, I just need a "real-world" opinion not a Gaydon-based one! |

Changed my td4 for Sd4 xs in april this year , Big differance , much better response smoother feel, does tend to hang on to the lower gears a fair bit if you get a bit heavy footed ,other nice touches, leather steering wheel, still not sure of the seats (might just have worn the old ones in to fit like "a glove")

Why buy an SD4 over a TD4? The difference in tax is less than a tank of diesel and the insurance probably no more than 3 tanks of diesel. It really is worth the extra based in the posts above and my own experience. |

Thanks Natwest, you clarify my point precisely. The difference is so small as to be insignificant. In my case the tax was 215 and the insurance about £380. |

I have a SD4 GS, and driven a TD4 auto loaner. The 40 less PS in TD4 didn't make much difference to pulling power, but it was noticeably noisier. Having said that, I also had a SD4 HSE on loan (with windsor leather seats - very nice indeed) - which felt much more refined and quieter. So either sound dampening is better in HSE vs GS, or I've its pot luck how well put together your engine is or they put the better quality engines in HSEs and leave the left overs for GS.
