A spare plug with a bulb or resistor wired onto it, plug it in instead of the lightboard?

Ah just ignore it man. How long does it take to back a boat into the water? 30-90 seconds? Turn the radio up or something!

Never had an issue with reversing sensors beep myself, shove some ear defenders on if a little beep is so annoying |

Stick the trailer lighting board in the back of the car, open the tailgate, plug in trailer board. |

I know your problem. I overcame this by buying a cheap halfords lighting board cut it down to about 2 foot refitted the lights to it and shortend the cable.

I presume the car senses the resistance in the trailer light cabling because lights on on or off have no effect. I'll try one of those testers suggested in later posts or wire a plug with a bulb, the resistor idea sounds good but lack knowledge on spec and wiring it. Many thanks to you and others for some helpful suggestions (I'll give the earplugs a miss) |

Not that this is the only way and LR may be different but the "classic" socket has a microswitch to detect if a trailer has been attached. No clever load sensors or anything like that.
