so according to Vettel you cant un lap yourself

Well i thought Sunday GP was a little boring.
So why couldn't Hamilton unlap himself according to Vettel ?
I thought Hammy was doing quite well, they were not racing hammy so why didn't they just move over ?

Is it me or F1 getting so boring and spoiled by continued controversy ?

So was hammy right then when he said when he had his puncture "we should retire"

Yes it was getting boring... I think they are trying to improve by introducing the new rules...

I don't see why a car can't unlap itself - it is still a race Very Happy 2002 Honda VFR800

The "races" are becoming processional, little action to speak of.
I think the sport has peaked in its current form, some years ago, I'm not against safety but that, coupled with the environmental needs has sounded a death knell for F1.
I also feel the drivers are not in it for the race, too much money from sponsorship deals, most sports have gone the same way.

Most exciting part was Jenson Buttons fastest pit stop on record ! 2.6 sec
His wheels had barley stopped when he was driving back out again ! Obviously lots of practice. Bow down

The FIA are now looking at Red Bulls engine maps, seems as though they have a map that reduces torque under some conditions, effectively cutting wheelspin, this could contravene the traction control regs, expect an engine map regulation soon Rolling Eyes

The throttle mapping was regulated along with the exhaust outlet shape to reduce the gas the difuser was being fed which increase downforce. Looks like Red Bull have found a way of flowing the gas around the bodywork to do the same thing. Adrian Newey is very clever!

Jenson's pit stop was quite incredible - a very well oiled machine!

What I didn't get was how Lewis was allowed to use DRS to unlap himself. He's not technically within a second of the car in front - he's at least a minute behind! 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual

You guys must be watching a completely different season to me. Granted, the days of Mansell and Senna (and even Hill and original Schumacher) were great, but compared to a few years ago, this season is great!

Don't forget also that down here, we have to wait until 10pm to watch the European races live. If it were proper boring, I would go to bed instead. 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

DRS is available for a car even if the car in front is a lap behind - so not really much different to the situation Lewis was in...

I believe the DRS rule is to be just within one second of th ecar in front - as that is the one you wish to pass... Thumbs Up

The trouble is most circuits don't really have enough places where passing is really possible at the speeds they all drive.. consider that the in Q3 all 10 cars are usually within a second or two from 1 - 10 Confused 2002 Honda VFR800
