Hi want to upgrade my drivers seat so that it can store driving postions for me.
I'd guess this is feasable, not sure what parts I'd need does anyone know.

I am interested if this is possible too. I have just been assuming that is one of those things that costs way more to do out of the factory than anyone would be willing to pay!

my guess would be a complete new seat, as the memory seats in a HSE have more buttons, memory,1,2,3, lumbar switch, and more adjustments.

But then, when you press Mem + 1 it says on the dash screen Memory 1 stored, it will also Memory 1,2,3 selected,

Due to that i would think you would need to have the cars CCF altered, using a tool like the faultmate MSV that BBS sell over on Disco3 as i don't think a dealer would be willing to alter this file

I have it on mine, and apart from using it to alter my driving position (occasionally i need to sit more upright due to a back issue) and im too lazy to use the seat back adjuster or on those rare occasions the wife will drive, its never used and just as quick to manually adjust

i was hoping that as the seat on my SE sits on a control panel anyway, this allows forward backs etc in fact everything bar save driving positions.
maybe someone who works at a dealer might be able to confirm for sure.
Think i'll call a local breakers to see if they have a seat in stock.

Yep, press the button and it grows or shrinks, I don't think it's a air filled one though as I can't hear a pump

As I understand it the HSE seat has full height adjustment (ie front and rear). SE is rear only, so raise/lower alters the tilt too. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

lumber is just a spring plate that is distorted by a theaded rod , the more twists on the rod the more the plate bows into your lumber area.

no idea, does the memory work on a movement timer or potentiometers? second is more likely for seats, less likely in the mirrors.

be aware that some memory seat owners arnt that impressed as the do their different adjustments in turn instead of all at once so can take just as long an manual electrics. Any owners want to correct me or not, I dont really know for sure At work

The reason i want the seat is that i have had 2 major back ops that have not worked. In constant back/leg pain.
The landie seat is the most confortable but of course when my wife uses the car see changes the postion and its a killer for me to get it exactly as was before.
I've been looking all over the web on this.
As the SE has everything bar the memory i'd have thought its just case of pulling out the existing kit and put a new one in with memory function, much like changing a card in a computer.
I've seen specs for a chevy using 6WAY ELECTRIC SEAT which is what the HSE has, so its a common thing
The problem of course is that no-one has done it, I guess thinking they'll buy a HSE -ouch
Thing is my 08 SE is greaaaaaaat the best, it keeps me mobile.
The cost for new HSE is just too much for me, hence the idea on upgrading the seat.
If theres someone out who can do it I'll pay as obvously I can't do it.

Mirrors are included in the memory settings, but not the lumbar support.
I also have a difficult time with my back and the lumbar support helps a little, but does not "protrude" enough to be really helpful.

I should have remembered about the mirrors been included

but your right the lumbar support is not the best

Not sure about the FL2, but the FFRR does all seat, stearing column and mirror movements all at the same time  ______________________
