If you're out and about, try Gorran Haven and fish from the harbour wall for Bass, Pollack and Mackerel. Make sure the tide is in, times are published on tinternet.

I don't know your likes/dislikes but a nice place to visit is 'The Lost Gardens of Heligan', quite close to 'Gorran Haven' as well.

Recommend Padstow for Rick Stein's Fish & Chips but park in the car park at the top of the town on your way in, not down by the harbour as it will be a nightmare in August. Then carry on round to Trevone Bay which is just along the coast for a really nice beach. If you have the time, pop down to St Ives but its a bit of a trog from Bude, park in the car park by the leisure centre and walk from there. Best beach I've ever been on is Bedruthan Steps which is awesome. Eden Project also worth a visit. |

You might want to visit the Eden Project while you are down there (close to the Lost gardens of Heligan)

With all this rain just be careful where you sit and park your car in Boscastle |

It was the same year I was at Boscastle, glorious weather in the high 30's and then later that year it was on the news with the flood, apparently there is still some cars washed out to sea that were never found
