If you're out and about, try Gorran Haven and fish from the harbour wall for Bass, Pollack and Mackerel. Make sure the tide is in, times are published on tinternet.
There is a newly refurbished pub, a shop which makes it's own bread and pasties, fish and chip shop and a small shop which sometimes sells bait. Best take some with you.

It's a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

I don't know your likes/dislikes but a nice place to visit is 'The Lost Gardens of Heligan', quite close to 'Gorran Haven' as well.
Give it a search on Google Thumbs Up

I have been told by my brother that it sure is, a photo of me about 10 years old pushing my TB afflicted brother in a whicker basket shaped like a coffin on wheels around Perranporth Laughing
Of course the TB hospital/convalescent home is no more and the museum shows it as part of Perranporths history. God, I feel old Sad

Recommend Padstow for Rick Stein's Fish & Chips but park in the car park at the top of the town on your way in, not down by the harbour as it will be a nightmare in August. Then carry on round to Trevone Bay which is just along the coast for a really nice beach. If you have the time, pop down to St Ives but its a bit of a trog from Bude, park in the car park by the leisure centre and walk from there. Best beach I've ever been on is Bedruthan Steps which is awesome. Eden Project also worth a visit.

Not sure how close you'll be but have a trip to Boscastle, nice natrual harbour there were you can walk out to the the end on the right and sit watching life pass by (last time i was watching a basking shark)

I was stopping at Trwethett Farm Caravan Site, so was close by, but the sun setting in to the sea is a great memory, but then that was when we had a summer Laughing

Just further down the road towards Tintagel is a great cornish pasty shop, right down at the end of the road on the right

With all this rain just be careful where you sit and park your car in Boscastle Whistle
Don't forget 'Clovelly' (just north of Bude and officially in Devon), the steepest access into a village in the South West, walking only and donkeys are available in the summer Thumbs Up

It was the same year I was at Boscastle, glorious weather in the high 30's and then later that year it was on the news with the flood, apparently there is still some cars washed out to sea that were never found

Visited since, nice but wasn't the same feel to the place as there was lots of things rebuilt and changed

As for St Ives, that was mentioned earlier, if you like sharing your food with a seagull, enjoy your day there

My wife got a bust lip when one swoop down to nick her pizza slice, landed not so far away from me and tried to neck it, so i booted it like a football on a penalty spot, only for it to land, and fly off with the pizza, Hard B'stards them seaguls Evil or Very Mad
