No holiday for the FR2 this year

after 20 + years of caravanning in Europe each and every year we leave the Fr2 behind this year. Having had failures in France 3 years running I had strict instructions from her indoors were not taking the FR2 anywhere and having another spoilt holiday.
So here I am packing suitcases to fly off to warmer climate but my word this packing is bloomin hard work ! It seems never-ending and her indoors is getting stressed with have we got everything !
As our caravan is home from home and always packed all we normally throw in is some light cloathes & off we go so lets hope the luxury Villa we have booked is up to expectations, at 3k it better be.
Now I guess we will find out what we have forgotten in a few days and lets hope the hire car is reliable.i guess cant guess worse than the unreliability of my piece of junk.

It is not often that I agree with chicken slaughterers but I am always SO embarrased when people I know say that they have a caravan ! It really takes all my inner strength to stop me from saying ' did you not do maths at school ' !! At the behest of my missus, I have looked time and time again at caravans and just cannot see for one moment why people bother with them !! Maybe I am missing something !! FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

A apart from that you get some time to do what holiday cottages guests can, nice pub lunches/meals, walks in the country, get up when you want, take the dog if you want, visit different parts of this wonderful country we live in, chat to like minded people or keep to yourself - what is there not to like Bow down

Ive seen shorter TESCO juggernauts, and their road tax is around 3 grand for the priviledge of holding everyone else up!

I agree with muddy wheels, and I hate this packing ! so easy with the van going to Europe, every-things already in the van, even me chargers for I-pods & e-books etc etc. I just chuck some cloathes in and go !

Its actually very difficult to match the comfort of our own mobile home to anything holiday cottage wise !
Hopefully the Villa will live up to expectations.

Did stay here when we did a road trip in California & Arizona 2 years ago and this was as good as the van
http://www.venetian.com/Las-Vegas-Accommod...ury-Suite/ but it did bend the wallet big time. Big Cry
I work all year to have a great holiday so quality is more important than watching the pennies

Its strange how most peoples perception is of a caravan holding up the traffic ! if your stuck behind me its because I'm stuck behind someone else ! normally a Micra driver ! or cyclist, tractor etc
My outfit cruises along with ease at 70-80 no problem and its no slouch on the hills.
Most caravans tow so well these days you dont know they are behind you most of the time.

Have you ever stayed in a hotel or cottage that allows dogs?
Bet you don't do it twice.
We have a miniture yorkshire terrier, but it might as well be an Irish Wolfhound as far as hoteliiers are concerned. The rooms usually are full of dog fur (yorkies don't shed fur) and smell of wet dog (or worse). Cottage in Newquay the week before the kids Holidays £600, campsite just up the road with mains electric, water and waste £180 for 9 nights.

Ok 10 years ago the van cost us £3k, even just doing the maths I believe I am on a winner, and don't even think about leaving the dog at home with family for the long weekends, SWMBO would rather leave me at home Very Happy

Each to thier own I say Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
