I recently had a problem with my sunroof. I went to close it, and it closed then automatically opened up half way.
i tried several times, and the same results. the tracks are clear, and the bug screen folds correctly and completely.
The only way I could close it was to have my friend put pressure on top of it while I engaged it. Now I'm afraid to open it.

I seem to recall I had a similar problem early on in my FL2; the dealer fixed it very easily by going through some sort of a resetting procedure while I waited but I can't recall what they actually did. (nothing mechanical though) Sorry I can't help more.

I had the same problems with my sunroof in my 2008 model from the begining. After 2-3 visits at the LR dealer and various cleanings and improvisations, finally I had the sunroof changed. Perfect after that.

There is also a calibration procedure in the manual, useful if the power from the battery is lost with the roof open.

There was a recall in UK for sunroofs for 07 models and possibly 08, can't remember the exact details.
Might be worth checking with the Dealer whether it applies to your VIN and whether it has been done.
