Brake pad Wear

Took my calipers off today (they don't call me pegleg for nothing Rolling with laughter ) and found the brakes perfectly servicable after almost 40k miles. Just needed a bit of cleaning up.

I'm not hard with brakes and looks as if they could last another 40k.
Anyone done a big mileage before the pads needed replacing? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Same here, 46,000 miles and it looks like the pads have plenty of life left. I went through pads more frequently on my Range Rover classic and Freelander 1- maybe Land Rover got it right on the LR2.

Tend to find a F/L 2 wears through the rear pads quicker, as they usually seize up in the carriers... Strathearn Engineering

United Arab Emirates 2008 LR2 i6 HSE Auto Narvik Black

Hi All

I am seeking advice on if there is any variance in brake pad sizes for a 2008 LR2 3.2 HSE. I am in uAE and landrover here are attempting to charge $300 US for replacement front and rear pads EXCLUDING the fitting!!

I can see many pads available MINTEX for example on ebay UK for approx $100. However there are not many 3.2 LR2's in UK as fuel is so expensive and the companies i have contacted are not convinced they have the correct type of brake pad.

Please advise if there is 1 standard size of brake pad for this particular vehicle

Many thanks
Garry

I've done 58K miles and the front pads are still original and good. Rears delaminated after 40K.
