Last few weeks first time used Air con fully since purchase.
Amazed and disappointed when on no power - I.e sluggish , hard to accelerate
Not had this type of situation for about 20 years when Air Con first popular

mine does go a little sluggish at lower revs when a/c is running had a ford c max tdci that did the same was told ist normal by ford dealer have not yet questioned the l/r dealer but will do if it continues  rainy-city

Her Ladyship's has had its A/C on from day one every day (2 1/2yrs) in temps from +40°C down to -35°C and our experience is that the FL2's system is very efficient indeed coping with all climatic conditions.

I suggest that if you experience a "sluggish" performance get the system checked by an automotive aircon specialist. However, before you do that have you used the "fan" booster control dial

Are you really talking about the aircon's performance or the Fl2's motor's acceleration performance when you've switched the aircon on? Switching the aircon on should have no noticeable detrimental effect on the car's acceleration. If it does then get the vehicle checked.

Finally, with any car with aircon fitted it is recommended good practise to use the aircon at least once a fortnight for a day - best practise is to use it all the time to avoid operating problems

In my experience you will always suffer a small decrease in power - which makes sense really as the aircon compressor takes a lot of turning under load. This is confirmed when you look at fuel consumption when it is switched on, hence the 'econ' setting. I tend to use 'econ' most of the time until hot weather makes it necessary to use full-on aircon to make thing nice and cool.

try turning air con on and off when at tick over, you will sense the engine note change slightly as it takes the load. At work

Yes - using the aircon will consume energy - but - as far as the FL2 that her Ladyship drives it is almost imperceptible and certainly does not make engine performance; quote "sluggish". Hence my view is that if that is happenings with the OP's FL2 then they should seek LR's assistance in determining why that is so.

You definitely have a problem, yes the 'aircon' will take a loading on the engine but it will not be noticeable in driving, only your fuel consumption at the end of the day by a small amount.
Like the others I notice no drop in power at all.

I would have thought that if your aircon is drawing that much power its drive belt would soon give and either go slack or snap At work

In my SD Auto, there's no perceptible change when the a/c is switched on or off.

As others have said, take it back to the dealer, there's something wrong. Brian

I don't notice a difference in power when i switch my climate control on, unlike the Hyundai coupe that i had in 2006 that gave me a 'jerk' every time i switched on  59 TD4e XS in galway green

The aircon can be switched off……………………………?
