In those circumstances, I'd have a really good look around. If you're considering spending 5 Series, Q5 or X5 money, then there are some really nice alternatives before you settle for the default clone German motor.

I must admit if I could stomach the fuel economy I would have a Disco 4 or a Range Rover..... |

The Disco was returning me 28mpg where the FL2 would have returned around 32mpg, if that helps. |

I run a MY12 V6 RRS and am getting a consistant 31mpg, though I don't drive it that hard.

Don't know if it's a coincidence CG, but I did see a group of proud vanners lurking round that same truck at Coniston last week, one of them had a Hacksaw in their hands |

I didn't do the brakes but I'm surprised I didn't pass a three wheeled Ranger on the way home |

I would definitely go RRS FFRR or Disco over BMW X5 or Audi if you want another 4x4, they are just as refined and prestigious but they work in mud and snow! Another couple im tempted by next are the current shape Shogun or Landcruiser, although not as refined running costs are reasonable and they are a decent size and very capable.

Wait till the next version is announced, whether it be the FL3, or MY2013/4 RRS |
