My local LR dealer has a special on for supply and fit screens to both rear head rests (complete head rest assy) and wire in to centre console complete with wireless headsets (2 off) for £399.00, normally around £1700
All I have to supply is the device such as iPad or DVD player etc.
Sounds good to me but just wanna check before getting it... what do you think?

good for a steeler, however these units typicall sell for around £250 on fleabay
they are no too hard to self fit. allow 2 hours for your first effort.

oh, one tip. I did not have the electronics for mine fitted to the center console, as then when u plug in a dvd you have leads all over the place, I had the module set under the passenger seat. mucy tidier. 

Whilst looking on ebay I saw that the same dealer has them listed at £170.00 or best offer, so I just called them and got the kit for £150 and will self fit

typical, my car was at the garage and I asked to spares chap to put the kit in the boot and check the headrests as I couldn't recall if they were leather or cloth.
They have now returned my car and he put them in the boot but didn't check, my headrests are leather and the kit is cloth and they don't have a leather kits

phone just rang, the dealer... they just sourced some leather ones from LR and are coming to my house to swap them over... great service

so was I until I read the fitting instructions... starting to think twice now... take the seats apart

the seats are very easy, dont worry I have dont loads

1. bend seat back wards, remove headrests, and unclip upper seat cover at the bottom of the seat by the foot well
this is fiddly, as the plastic clip is stiff, you might need some finger pliers to pull apart.
2. bend seat forward
3. lie on floor, put hand inside rear of seat fabric, and reach upwards to the top, at the SAME time feed the new
headrest cable through, and gently pull the cable down the inside of the seat liner.
4. feed cable under seat and out the side towards the centre console.
5. reattach the the seat cover clip - this is a pain to do, you may need to bend the set backwards again to get some slack. you can be quite rough and tug it hard, it should not rip.

3a being carefull not to slice your fingers on the sharp edges of the seat frame
4a making sure the wire comes out of the bottom of the heat rest tube - not the side as you will damage the wire when the rest is at its lowest
6 wipe excess blood - see 3a
7 when fitting controle module in centre console ensure the module is not resting on any wires... Next bit is the centre console work...
The instructions show the removal of the dash grill, but how, pry it with a screw driver?
Also shows removal of the rear audio controls, but how?
I hate sticking a screw driver in hoping things will pop off only to leave marks in the plastic

Not sure why dash is coming out, you only need to remove Center console.


1. Remove gear knob, push it down, and pull down the gater. Easy.
2. Remove gear lever surround, and terrain response dial, by grabbing both sides of the silver bezel around the gater at the REAR of the Center console, and pull up. It will unclip, there is 1 electrical wire plugged into terrain response, remove this. Remove sound Insulation around gear changer, This will expose 4 bolts / torx screws holding he console in. Remove them.
3. To remove rear audio, first pull up the tray at the bottom of the controls, it is clipped in.this will expose the 2 screws holding audio controls, undo, and unplug the connectors. This will expose 2 more bolts / torx screws which hold the rear of the console in. Remove them. There is also a large electrical connector here, unplug it, and push wire back I to console so it does not catch when u lift the console out.
4. Don't lift the console out yet. Find the handbrake adjuster bear your audio controls, remove lock ring and loosen off.
Lift hand brake up, and unclip it's gater.
5. Now gently lift up console.


Above s from memory, should be good enough to do the job.

Looking at the instructions I think the dash has to come out to gain access to the bolts that hold the front of the cntr console.. Is that not the case?
