Front parking sensors activation

Hi, I am trying to work out how the front parking sensors work, the manual says they are activated when reverse is selected which seems a but daft as I'll be going backwards so why will I need the front sensors?
It also says to activate the front sensors when driving into a small space, press the switch on the dash, ok I can live with that but when I pulled onto my drive tonight, forwards, they started sounding as I approached the house wall and I hadn't pressed the button Shocked , I had just turned the car around using reverse and then drove in 1st onto my drive so maybe that had summit to do with it, but I am a bit confused.com Rolling Eyes

If you had just reversed, they remain active until you go above X mph, whether your in reverse, or going forward

You may need the front sensors if you are in reverse but not reversing in a straight line, as you reverse and you turn the wheel to the left or right the front of the car swings out so the sensors can warn you of the gate post or parked car you are just about to hit. Thumbs Up
