Does anyone carry spare parts with them when they off-road? In a couple months I'll be venturing out into the Mojave desert and I want to be prepared in to fix anything that might commonly fail on a FL2.

The most important thing is that people know when you are due back, just in case I would normally say that they know your route but thats probably not practical in a desert Think people have covered the spares for the freeby, tyres, fuel and clamps etc but also plenty of fluids (water) for you and the freeby but you have probably done this before so you will know all that, Oh! almost forgot, THE most important thing is to enjoy yourself have fun and I'm not a bit jealsous

Epoxy filler to plug holes on any tank that might get a hole in it.......and a paper clip, box of matches and complete seasons of McGyver on dvd so you know what to do with them. |

@Andy - funny you mention that. I actually banged up the gas tank pretty badly. Now I believe I need a new fuel tank sender unit but I'm not 100% sure. The gas tank occasionally does wonky things (like read that it's half full when it's completely empty). Installed a hitch, stock roof rack, mantec skid plates, General Grabbers AT2 255/60/R18, and a rear access ladder. Also made a hitch-mount for the winch. Looking to install a front hitch, rooft-top basket, and lift kit.

Yah, just installed the mantec front & rear skid plates. I'll post photos when I get a chance. I had to cut a decent amount of material out of the rear skid plate to make it fit (and prevent the exhaust from hitting it when I go over bumps). That may be because I'm fitting it on an american car (probably has a slightly different exhaust system).
