Lloyd is now so dirty I had to rub the number plate so it could be read.
I'm so exhausted with my mum being poorly, work has been incredibly busy (don't feed your dog peaches with stones in!!) and generally demoralised, that poor old Lloyd hasn't had a good bath in 3 months.
Usually I'd lovingly wash him but at the moment I haven't got the energy!
So I was wondering if it would do him any harm to stick him through the car wash at sainsburys?
Will it cause damage to my paintwork?

Take it to your local hand car wash, every town has them now! Usually do an alright job toooo

If it's a roll over car wash, don't do it! It will destroy the finish on your paintwork, especially if the car goes in to the wash filthy!

It won't cause any damage to the paintwork, but they sometimes leave superficial swirly marks. Having said that, I have seen similar marks after hand washing and leathering down carried out by me.

Swirly marks (which are only visible in sunlight anyway) can be removed by proper waxing and polishing.

Don't put it through a car wash - never.

As an alternative take it to a garage that has those wash power lances as that way no contaminated brushes, sponges etc will touch Lloyd. Her Ladyship's FL2 goes this way - never hand or car washed, and to-date absolutely no problems using these "power wash lances", then a quick gallop down the road to blast off all the residual water from the bodywork to negate leathering down.

If time is short the hand car wash people would be your best bet

When I lived in Edinburgh there was a fantastic place where you drove in- some dashing polish man covered your car in hot white foam before a good hose down. That seemed to work a treat.
For now he is just going to be dirty. I managed to hurt my elbow yesterday when trimming a lamanitic pony's feet so my plan to do Lloyd today has been aborted.

Try Sainsbury's on the team valley, the were there a couple of month's ago when i was visiting. don't know how good they were but my wife thought they were very handsome not quite they way she put it but it mean't the same

MM, pop Lloyd over to Stockton, there is a car wash there, the chap does it at his home address, I can get you the address if you want, it's easy to find, usually a big pile of Snow Foam out side his place, he may even have the Pink Snow Foam especially for you.
