Hello!

Picking up my (new to me) freelander 2 on Saturday, a 2009 TD4-e XS in Bali Blue.

Have been having a look round the forum today and looks like you guys have a really good mix of useful posts and friendly banter - just what you need from a owners group!

Looking forward to enjoying the forums and getting out in some mud with the Freelander as soon as possible!

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Hello All,

I've been a lurker on the forum for quite a while but have just taken delivery of a shiny new Freelander 'lite' (eD4) as my company car and feel the need to post the obligatory snap...

It's an Orkney Grey GS with the cold climate pack and privacy glass. I would have liked the full TD4 but the lower tax/lease costs (and hopefully fuel economy) made the eD4 a more attractive proposition. A couple of hundred miles over the weekend and it claims to be averaging about 44 mpg!

Loving it so far and hoping to add the Garmin satnav upgrade soon to fill the gaping hole in the dash.

Previously had a CR-V for 90,000 miles and (in spite of being pug-ugly) it never missed a beat. I'm got my fingers crossed that the FL2 turns out to be just as reliable.

Have really enjoyed following the forums for the past few months and look forward to learning more from your collective experience.

Derek

They could be twins...the colour is a major change for me as I've had black cars for more than 10 years and it's taking a bit of getting used to. Smile

Finland

Good evening to all!
I just brought this -07 Freelander from the Netherlands. It drives very fluently. I had previously Skoda Octavia 4x4 with a slightly tuned engine, yet very economical. So I already ordered an economy box from Bluespark to my FR2. Well let us see what happens, when it comes. At present my FR2 takes some 11,5ltr/100km in city. I think that is a bit too much.
I also have "side steps" on my car. They are totally unpractical in this climate as you can see in the picture. The lower door list on the other side even went off while closing the door because of that ice-snow. The picture is taken today. I think I have them removed.
Anyway, there are not too many FR2s in Finland and this site seems to be nice. I wish to be able to contribute some posts regarding driving conditions here up in North. Talking of which, I have now Good Year "all weather" tyres that are no good in real snow and on slippery roads, but very pleasant in normal driving conditions. I wonder how it is in Scotland? Do you find Nordic winter tyres useful there?

Have been reading the forum for a few weeks but can finally join you all! Have just bought an 07 SE with 35k on the clock and get to pick up next week - very excited! I currently have 2 freelander 1's (one written off and waiting to be broken sadly!) but looking forward to the change to a FL2

Look forward to getting to know you all

Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Rimini Red
Hello - newish member

Hi to all,

I have been a member for a few weeks but not had anything to say. I am still getting to know my recently purchased 06 Freelander 2.

Has anybody else noticed that the spare tyre is full size, yet the steel wheel has a speed restriction sticker on it?
Why not change the wheel for a matching alloy and be done with it?

or have I mised something?? Embarassed
