England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Spent the morning in a MY12 RRS HSE and at the end was more than happy to get back in my Freelander 2.

I'm looking forward to reading your findings.

Truth be told, I'd love the idea of having a RRS, but would hate to give up the Freelander to get one. There's a lot I'd hate to give up on the Freelander too, like how easy it is too park, its tiny turning circle, its running costs and probably its reliability too Rolling Eyes

I hope it's an easy decision for you either way Thumbs Up

Any news?....

Drove an RRS on a freebie Experience day and must say I didn't like it. I have had Discos up till the current FR2, but was increasingly feeling that I was driving something a bit agricultural. The Fr2 does all I want it to but is a bit more car-like. Driving the RRS was like getting back onto the tractor.
Oh dear, I'm showing my age.

I had 2 RRS's, a 2006 SE and a 2009 HSE, both 2.7 V6. Both were great cars and both were better than the FL2 HSE I now have. Fuel economy is barely different (30 mpg on the RRS v 35 on the FL") and the RRS is more comfortable. What I miss most is the glorious V6. FL2 is a great car, but if you've had a RRS or FFRR, you will notice the difference more than you might first think. I'll be getting another when the money has been saved up!

Hi - Been for a test drive in a new FL2 XS model.
FL2 - More nippier and responsive to drive than the RRS. Found the drive quite comfy and no roll in the corners ( The roll in the corners is what i was expecting like my old Nissan terrano and xtrail) It seemed to be about the same ride height as my RRS. Engine noise was about the same in the car as my RRS. The FL2 felt a lot lighter and more responsive at the steering wheel. The satnav in the FL2 is a lot better and has been greatly improved than the one in my 07 RRS ( It like comparing a canal barge and a speed boat)
RRS 2.7HSE - Cant fault my RRS at all -. Pure luxury. ( Except for expensive road tax - Low MPG 16 around town - Double the cost on insurance than the FL2 )
Put a deposit on the FL2 and collecting it Wednesday or Thursday. Stratstone are taking my RRS in as part exchange and had a very good price. - Santorini black , Rear roof spoiler and privacy glass.
I did look at the new RRS in the show room, but out of my price range - Even with a 20% discount.
Looking forward to being a member on this forum - Cheers. Thumbs Up

Nice one Kelley, really pleased to hear it Thumbs Up

How did you live with 16 mpg around town?! Shocked

It's interesting to see that the RRS has a 20% discount, I bet that you didn't get close to that with the Freelander.
