There is a fuse for the actual power supply for the socket but not for the light itself |

For models 2006 - 2009 ring with green illuminated ring, cigar lighter mounting ring

You can replace the bulb and it's very cheap. The difficult part is removing the cigar lighter. Ideally, you need to get underneath the console and squeeze the cigar lighter mounting clip. You can sometimes force it out without getting underneath but be careful you don't damage either the cigar lighter or more importantly the centre console. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

Well... I was able to remove the bulb just reaching from under the gear shifter. But could not put it back together afterwards.

You will need to search but there is a thread on here where someone (it may be NP ) but they removed the socket and found Fomoco on it |
