United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey
Help!

I am in a real dilemma! After having my Freelander 2 for 4 1/2 years since it was 7 months old, I am debating whether I should change her for a newer SD4 HSE!

I would have a budget of up to £30k which will now get a decent 60/11 plate car.

Now there is nothing wrong with ours in any way, not one rattle or squeak, runs perfectly and is in near on perfect condition with the exception of about 9 stone chips on the bonnet which are hardly noticeable.

So do I stick with what I have and wait to see what next years Freelander, which the rumours are getting stronger that it may even be called Freelander 3!

I was all set to go car hunting last night, then went for a drive to fill her up with V Power and had a fab drive!

Help!

Your opinions are of course welcome! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I think I would wait and see what next year brings, if a new model is forthcoming and it wasn't quite what you fancy it would still have an affect on Freelander 2 prices. So a SD4 could well work out cheaper as an old model.

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Indus Silver

Been there myself. Looked around before Xmas for a new or nearly new sd4. To be honest there was some lovely cars out there but in many cases I thought they were over priced with the typical dealer under value of my car. Personally, I think Land Rover are having a good time at the moment which has left dealers not having to work too hard to sell their cars resulting in an arrogance.
So, I still have my 07 XS, and no matter what goes wrong, it will still cost less than what I would lose as I drove the new car out the showroom!!

Wait for the new one, the effort you have put into yours outweighs getting another of the same, would you really see a difference?

I am also having the same issue. After test drives in S/C FFRR, RRS and Evoque I have decided that I will wait and see if the F3 materialises - hopefully with a powerful petrol engine and a more exciting colour range to choose from!

Since owning my two F2's the only issue I have had is one breakdown caused by a faulty fuel-gauge unit that shut the engine off.

After many years of car ownership I realise that if you like the car you have and it is reliable it is best to keep it as although you might think you will like the new car that might not always be so when you have it! mole

Apart from the SD4 would be an auto which we want, your right we would not really notice much difference.

Ok a newer car would feel newer of course but I think the sensible thing would be to wait to see what the 2013MY will be like! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Your car looks great and if it goes as well as it looks I would hang onto it until the 2013 model year is announced. I'm in the process of facelifting my 2010my but will also be interested in any new Freelander, especially if they update it more than they did for the 2011 year. 2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.

Keep yours for a while longer Thumbs Up You've been saying since we met up in France many years ago that you wished it was an auto, but you've lasted this long without changing. Wait until the new one arrives or look at a petrol Evoque, they are flying machines Laughing

The Mrs doesn't like the Evoque. Too WAG for her style.

If the expected updates to Freelander 2 in effect make it an Evoque in a Freelander body, I think that would be an excellent car. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
