drive cannot be stopped to the front so in reality the max split is 50:50 At work

You are right JST, a reactive viscous coupling
The 'Power transfer unit' sits at the gearbox end transfers front to back as needed, this is where the front half shafts and rear propshaft is sited https://www.freel2.com/gallery/displayimag...amp;pos=58 Of course I'm only researching this and could be as wrong as I might be right, so welcome anybody's views in the end we all learn something. |

that isnt shifting the power from the front to the back, its the rare case when both front wheels get no grip so the load is all on the back wheels At work

basically the rears either join in partially or fully. when they are fully joining in its 50:50, there is nothing in the car that is capable of sending drive to the rears without turning atleast one front wheel . At work

basically the prop to the rear wheels can only turn when the fronts do, the haldex at the rear decides if and when to sent some of that force to the rears At work

Been out and had a play. axle only displayed when in mud ruts mode. As much as I tried i didnt get it to come up in grass/ snow or programs off. Didnt try sand though.
