Not having a Stop Start not sure but heard it said that if the Battery in not fully charged Or the engine is not up to normal or the Air Con is in use this feature will not function. |

One of my lads has just got a 12 plate Blue Motion Golf, Automatic, that cuts the engine when you sit with your foot on the brake, he says gone are the days on the roundabout where you see a gap and go, you have to take your foot off the brake, press the accelerator for it to restart then it goes, by then it's to late, the gap has gone. |

I've had this on my company car for 3 years now, for the first two years it didn't work most of Decmber through to February because of the cold temperatures, I haven't honestly noticed a difference in MPG between working or not. Most of the younger lads turn it off for reasons of quick getaway. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Annie - Not questioning what you've written but just check that it actually says eco stop/start 'on'. When you get in the car and start it up you should not have to press anything to make the stop/start work, is this what your doing ? I have a Golf Bluemotion and can disable the stop/start by pressing a button and when I do (Very rarely as I think it's great) then and only then is the eco button lit. Of course LR might work the other way around but just a thought. ...and on the Golf you can run the aircon in stop/start mode, the fan keep blowing air over the cooler. |

You also need to be in neutral with your foot off the clutch. |

I like the feature but then I do get a fair amount of use out of it when I am going to and from work in Derby. LR claim it only needs to cut the engine for 10 seconds to start saving fuel. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Actually LR claim that stopping for 3 seconds or more will start saving fuel. |

its more of a gimmic than anything really useful. If the engine cuts out while waiting at traffic lights the impression I get is other drivers think you have stooled the engine. I switch mine off straight away but as mentioned it didn't work in the cold or engine not warmed up.
