United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Izmir Blue

Hello one and all.

Glad I found this site - it's been full of useful info and I have enjoyed browsing it.

Have had my FL2 for 9 months now and have loved every minute of it. Glad to see that some of the niggles I have had are easily sorted and looking forward to see what happens after it's first service next week.

Took it to Spain last summer and it just ate the miles up effortlessly and returned an overall 34.5mpg which considering a lot of it was spent at 80mph isn't too bad methinks.

Anyway, looking forward to taking part in this community.

At Long Last!

Dear All,

Having ordered my new Freelander in early October last year I am finally in the home straight, being scheduled for delivery late next week! Nazca Sand TD4 SE Very Happy The wait has been excrutiating, but having consumed a lot of the posts on the excellent forum, I know it will be worth it.

I took one for a test drive on spec, out of curiosity. Fell in love in a moment! Great car to drive (I am in a Subaru Liberty sedan Legacy in Europe - V good car, but wanted something different to play with this time around - due to business I change cars every two years). I need a mix of rubustness, fule economy and comfort F2 fits the bill!

As I have read the posts over the months I have become ever more comfortable that I have made the right choice.

Blessings to you all from south eastern Oz! The Barwon Heads Browns

Good choice Greg, you won't be disapoointed.

I only had to wait a few weeks, and it was killing me, I don't know how you've waited soooo long.

Thanks, Rich

Now I just hope the dealer doesn't delay at the last moment. My youngest son is very excited!

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame
Hi All

Just thought I'd say hi. I'm a regular on the MBUK forum and hope to be the same here.
Our 51 Cherokee was getting in a sorry state and rather than pour more money in, we've take the plunge and bought a 12 month old Tambora Flame TD4 SE. Ex demo so it has a few Blingy toys on it which are nice but not essential and all in all, it's a very smart motor. I should add that this is the Wife's. I'm a Merc man I'm afraid and drive an 05 E270cdi.
I should also say that coming from a Merc, my standards are pretty high. The cherokee never did it for me. Too agricultural and sloppy on road and whilst I'm sure it was fine off road, we rarely use it for that. Just pulling the horsebox across a muddy field (which it did well admittedly). On road, it wasn't much fun.

Now the FL2. A revelation. The first car the Mrs has had that I could really live with. Smooth, comfortable, capable and extremely well built. I'll happily take it out instead of the merc, and it takes a lot to get me out of my merc. I haven't had it off road yet but if the reputation is to be belived, they're great. On road, she handles like a little sports car. All in all, VERY impressed. Very Happy 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Romania 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Izmir Blue

Hello alll,

I just paid my first Freelander 2 SE Izmir Blue and hope to have it by next Thursday. Can't wait.
Before I bought it I think I saw every road test and vs and looked on all forums. After I spent some good hours on this one I made a drive test and dicided that I have to get one. After these two easy steps I managed to convince my wife and my wallet.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
