If your ever in doubt about what your service centre has actualy say they have done then just get a invisable ink pen and ultra violet light, mark the air filter and position of the oil filter housing etc etc.

hiya superspark, that is definatley one way of finding out whether things are done or not .. after what happened at my last service, it's hard to know if to trust them or not .. it's sad that i have to consider doing something like this..... derryk My First Fl2 and it is a 2010 GS Auto in Grey with Nice Leather and the Stereo even has headphone sockets in the back. Wish it had a heated screen tho.. Traded in a Fl1 for this. Got a georgous Black SoftTailed Harley for when the days get warmer .. Do days ever get warmer in Lancashire? |

I just tend to vote with my feet. In 35 years of car ownership I have never ever had such a bad experience as I have with this one & I have 4 cars and change them usually every 3 -4 years.
i'm amazed.... what happened when you showed them this ? if you have been charged for things that wern't done .. and can prove it derryk
too be honest I'm not surprised and would actually have expected for you to see and hear much worse. I think you are better not knowing what happens to your car after you leave it and not knowing what they talk about, as it will only upset you, and depending on your personality could cause big trouble !! the mechanics in the dealerships are not interested/or respect you and your car, they only want their wages at the end of the week, so don't expect anything else. Iain
Iain .. do you happen to be a mechanic for land rover ? Fair enough they need to get paid .. and to be honest i don't realy care what they think about me .. but i do expect them to do there job properly 'coz that is what they are paid for... and yes i guess you have guessed my personality type.. complaints to .. manager, service manager, senior manager, owner, franchise owner, every web site possible, then sit outside the shop every day with a sign and shouting out the faults at potential new customers ... heheheheheh I work for the health service.. personal contact with people everyday .. I'm expected to do things right, i expect myself to do things right.... What is wrong with everyone else..? derryk My First Fl2 and it is a 2010 GS Auto in Grey with Nice Leather and the Stereo even has headphone sockets in the back. Wish it had a heated screen tho.. I once had a C Class Mercedes and booked it in for a service (oil change - check up) and was quoted £245.As it was so expensive(10 years ago) I thought I would mark all the bolts holding the plastic undertray beneath the sump. When I checked after the service, I noticed that the undertray had not been removed. So, fuming, I marched back into the service department determined to sort it out.On the way I spotted a mechanic and asked him if you can change the oil from the top of the engine, and he said they suck it out via the dipstick tube.I was really glad I asked that question before blowing my top in the service department.
