A question of height

Enjoying my Freelander2 immensely. Getting a strange, almost musical, noise when switching off engine and leaving the car standing - electrics? Can't be anything serious - can it??
Interior looks great now that I have fitted the burr walnut fascia kit bought from a forum member.
My wife, who is vertically challenged, has some difficulty getting into the Freelander - no height adjustment (on the seat, that is, not the wife!!) Think I might resort to the small wooden stools they use for begginers to mount horses! She also has problems with the boot. Opening it is a piece of cake - closing it is not possible!!
Perhaps I should have taken her along with me when I bought the car!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only time you put your wife in the boot is when you go to the tip Thumbs Up

I believe some on here can hear the throttle assembly re-setting itself when shutting down.

yes when you switch it off you sometimes get various sounds coming from the engine bay.

think it depends on what you had on before switching off, air con, etc

you could fit a nice chunky leather strap on the inside of the bootlid that your wife could use to pull it down.

Possible solutions to your dear lady's impediments:

a) you could fit a pair of LR side-steps - they do turn up on eBay as the price of new one's are a tad "heavy" Idea
b) get yourself a length of black webbing and make a looped strap handle - then fix to one of the two rigid black plastic handles that are embedded in the tailgate trim panel. These handles are held in position by small screws - use them as the fixing point Idea

for the boot I used a length of belt,(trouser belt) fastened to the boot with rubber expanding bolts (from ebay called ducati bolts apparently used to hold the fairings on motor bikes

This is a first, a Farmer who makes a modification and does not use Bale Twine and I knew a Farmer who refused to spend money on unnessacery items such as a belt and always used Bale Twine instead to hold his trousers up.

CG I've got loads of them Very Happy
The fairings come off at least 3 or 4 times a year to facilitate a good clean n servicing and on those Rawnut plugs the brass threaded inserts sometime cease and the the rubber tears itself away. So I always have a box of'em handy.
