Off should be off whether they be LED's or standard filament type bulbs.

Tempted to go with the LEDs, but wish to clarify a point.
Does this mean that the boot bulb is smaller than the interior lamp bulbs? If so, would this LED http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/u42cw6-44mm-coo...-1387.html be a better replacement for the interior lamps? Thanks in advance. |

In a household bulb this could be the case as the caps may be part of the smoothing out of the AC signal for it to be converted into a steady DC low voltage supply for the leds. On a car it is DC to DC though so do not expect there is a great deal of capacitors involved and would expect that the power that is maintained within the supply circuits is very low due to the nature of solid state switching. I'm not an auto electrician, but it is part of my job, and I can't explain why the bulbs 'appear' to still be glowing....when I get a chance I will see if I can get a definitive answer from a tech guy in the LED lighting business.
