It used to be the done thing but has gone out of fashion perhaps due to the proliferation of "directional" tyres. John

I did read somewhere months ago that it is frowned upon now? Not sure though.

very true! as rotation required swapping sides not just front to rear - that would mean our tyres would have to be refitted to the wheels to keep the 'rotation direction' correct. 2002 Honda VFR800 2002 Toyota Celica 140 Silver (mid life crisis - again!) 2007 FL2 GS Manual Army Reconnaissance Green + freel2.com sticker 2004 Toyota Celica 140 Black - Gone 2000 Toyota Celica 140 Silver - Gone 1998 Toyota Celica ST Pearl Green - Gone 1996 Nissan Primera 1.6 - Gone 1994 Rover Montego 1.6 Auto - Gone |

Recommendation from all sources is that the most worn tyres should be on the front.

My owners manual indicates that the tires are not to be rotated. |

I think that was an instruction on a circular that went roundabout the dealers as it turned out, created a bit of a revolution as it depended on which way they originally revolved. |
