I've re-read the original question and I think I completely missed the point!

Are factory fitted sat-nav, partial leather heated seats, leather steering wheel worth paying an extra £4,000 for?

No.

They don't always cost £4k more. I was looking at the GS models and then the XS came up for an extra £500 with the same dealer. Same year as the GS i was about to buy, just a different colour Smile Thumbs Up 59 TD4e XS in galway green

What Car? rate the GS as best value for money. Good balance between kit and price. For the price I paid for mine new I could have had a used HSE but it was GS FTW! Thumbs Up

Personal choice at the end of the day but the extras didn't bother me and I have got cold climate pack which adds heated windscreen and washer jets (the only extra I wanted)

Don't waste your cash on an ed4. Not much difference in running costs and unless you fit winter tyres, you will be a laughing stock when people see a 2WD FL2 floundering in the snow. I have the TD4e which is superb and I get plenty of use out of the stop/start system.

Take one for a spin and decide for yourself but please avoid the 2WD version Thumbs Up LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

When I first went to my local Land Rover dealer, I asked for a quote for the eD4 and the sales man asked "What do you want one of those for?", which was an interesting reply to an initial sales enquiry....

In this case, our newbie isn't going to be taking it off road and would only be fording a few floods, so the eD4 should do fine. BUT, there's always going to be the nagging doubt of how embarrassing it's going to be when it eventually gets stuck and then having ask someone to recover it.... Embarassed Embarassed
