United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Bali Blue

Looks like another mini-facelift, chrome surrounds to grille and foglights, redesigned projector headlights, LED rear lights and that looks about it externally - these should have featured on the MY11 facelift, alot of MY11 owners will feel shortchanged that their facelifted models are already being updated - bad move by LR! What they should be doing is stop wasting money on putting tringlets on an ageing car and spend it on getting the new FL3 built. I love my FL2 but when I am up for change in early 2014 i wont be having another unless the FL3 is around - may even have to hide my head in shame and have a look at a 5 door Evoque. Shilen: I wouldn't hang your head in shame at the thought of owning an Evoque. It is a strange looking car Confused on the same vain as an X6 but if it suits your budget, your life and your image then go for it. Thumbs Up

Just keep the FL2 in the garage at home so as to stay a credible member here Laughing 2002 Honda VFR800

Shilen, a BABY RANGE ROVER its like shouting i could not afford proper RANGE ROVER Rolling with laughter

i had one on a test drive before i decided on the FR2

good points

looks from the front
interior

bad points
squashed roof makes you think its been rolled
its smaller than a FR2
less towing capacity
seating position
if you go for 3 door it takes for ever for the electric seat to move forward to gain access to the rear
less boot room

to me its not good enough to have the name Range Rover on it but i guess that was done to boost sales

any way that's my 2p worth on the Evoque best of luck on what you decide 1995 P38 now dead

Embarassed Embarassed Gee's its the Anti-Evoque cult on here!!

The only reason I mentioned an 'Ewok' (I wont mention the correct name again for fear of being lynched) is that I love the LR brand but unfortunately there are too few options for me

Range Rover - too expensive, would have to sell the house to afford one
Range Rover Sport - too expensive, Censored and driven by drug dealing chicken farmers
Disco - too big and thirsty, has the aerodynamics of a house brick
Ewok 3 door - noooooooooooooooo!
Ewok 5 door - hmmmmm.
FL3 - gimme gimme gimme!!!!
FL2 - nice but I have had two now and want a more up-to-date interior with an Ewok front on it.

Theres still a couple of years to go before I have to change so will someone get LR to stick a rocket up their arse and sort out the FL3!!!

At least you hav a coupe of years to decide

I'ed like to change this year, but they would need to get going quickly, those spy shots don't give me confidence that's that's going to happen, and not even a snifter at what's going to change Sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I agree Shilen,

The tint guy I was talking to yesterday was saying that he had seen pics of the new Defenders (he is into those) and he doesnt like the new ones and thinks the present shape will hold it's value due to nobody liking the one that's coming.

I agree with you about the Ewok coupe. I just don't get it. The 5 door Ewok always seems to be photographed from the front and low down to somehow make it look bigger. Strange again, why not just make it bigger? They seem to have squished the windows and made them too narrow and then try to photograph them to hide it?

RRS I love the look of those but they are very expensive.

I've only had my FL2 since October but it will be the reliability side of things mainly that will make me stay with LR or go to another brand. I love my FL2 but if I get the clutch/dmf/diff problems that others have had, i probably wont buy another.

I asked the chap i was talking to yesterday if he thinks that they will just stop producing the FL with all the hype and lurve that's going on for the Ewok. He didnt think that they will stop production but they dont seem to be in a rush to update it for us 59 TD4e XS in galway green

hi Annie

when the Freelander 1 was released it also was made to small hence the FR2 so it looks like they have done it again in the Evoque, the last time i looked on Landrovers web site at used Evoque there were 104 for sale also they are turning up in showrooms where they only sell used cars so i cant understand why there is a waiting list

looks like people are getting rid as soon as they are delivered 1995 P38 now dead

I liked the Evoque when i saw it online but not when i saw one in the showroom Sad

I couldnt believe how small they look compared to how they looked online with that big front.

They seem popular though although a guy on the detailing forum got rid of his £45k one as he said it gave him a bad back.
I went onto the LR configurator thingy and had a play as the FL one was still down and although they say the Ewok starts at £28 ish, by the time you add things on to make it the same as what you have in the FL, it all adds up very quickly

Does the Ewok use the same parts as the FL (ie, diff/clutch etc?)
I was just wondering if the Ewok owners will have the same problems as the FL drivers have had or are they totally different? 59 TD4e XS in galway green
