load space considerably bigger, so the push chair doesnt hog all the space anymore, also you can fill up/take out more by using the opening rear window, then not have to catch it all when it falls out as you re-open the tailgate.

A major plus point is the wife is now sat a valuable few inches further away due to the wide centre console.

Also no key fob docking lunacy Laughing

a pre2010 rrs is a lot like a fl2 in the dash similar buttons/menus etc

bluetooth locks to the phone in the car without having to be told even if it was previouly locked to another drivers phone, sensible

voice control of radio/sat nav is only good for its hilarity in being totally wrong, my son finds it hilarious At work

England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Auto Sumatra Black

Ive been to the doctors and he told me I had 'N.C.B' (new car blindness)
Lucky for me the wife is totally free of this disorder.

Although its a lovely car, I (sorry) WE cannot justify trading in my car for only £17,500 (58 plate with 35.000miles).

I've bought and traded enough cars to know that the dealer is expected to make a few grand on each deal.

Think I will be sticking with the freelander Very Happy SD4 Sports LE Black ...

no matter what your opinion or feelings are about the RRS, it is definitely an upgrade from a FL2.

I would say if you want it and can afford it go for it !!

Had FL1, FL2, RRS and now FL2 again as last 4 cars.
Mileage for RRS 23.29 overall
Mileage for FL2 27.52 overall
Both sets of figures include a fair amount of towing - FL2 is auto and does low 30s solo
FL2 is clearly the better tow car suspect due to less rear end overhang and the air suspension on the RRS which 'cos it was always sagging, was the reason for getting rid.

Well I 'downsized from a RRS about 12 months ago and have regretted it since. The FL2 is a great car and if I'd never had the RRS, I would be as happy as a pig in the you know what. But I did.....

I had 2 RRS's, both the 2.7V6 and I now have the SD4 FL2 in HSE spec with posh leather. The leather is the same as the RRS HSE I had and the controls are the same. The last RRS averaged 30.3 mpg accroding to the computer, but think of it this way; the tank takes 82 litres and gives you a range of 550 miles. The FL2 SD4 takes a smidge over 60 litres for 475 miles - or the computer tells me about 35 mpg. So a very small saving in the scheme of things. Tax is £435 against £210, again marginal in the scheme of things. The car takes more and is much more comfortable, with the best seats I've ever experienced in any car, including a FFRR.

I will be buying another RRS when the bullet on the FL2 comes up next year (I buy on the 50% down 50% in two years deal). Nothing wrong the with FL2 - miles better than the FL1s I had before the RRSs, its about 90% of the car that the RRS and you do notice that 10%.

My two were an 06 and an 09. The only problem I had was a fuel filler flap which used to stay locked on the 06 car, fixed without fuss. The 09 was a joy, no troubles at all. I've had more electrical troubles with the FL2 than with either RRS and the lack of Xenon lights and I pod connection on a car with a sticker price of £36K is woeful.

Well no kids and a generous car allowance from my employer, but hardly rolling in it! 50% down on the 09 car was £24000, which works out at 3 years car allowance, so the only real money I put in is about £8K, which over 24 months worksout at a sub from my pocket of about 300 per month.
