Rear tyre wear

I am about to change the rears (Goodyear Wrangler AW) after 50,000 miles (I'm not complaining) but have noticed that the outside third of both tyres are noticeably more worn than the inner two thirds. Is this just down to wheel alignment?
Any thoughts appreciated. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

Possibly but can also be down to your driving technique too, going round corners on 2 wheels etc, and amount of load carried,

I do mostly motorway miles, steady motoring and certainly don't chuck it round corners anymore - have now matured.
Also no heavy loads and no towing. Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?

Most likely, get a full 4 wheel alignment check to these figures, courtesy of Alex's gallery

50k is pretty good going Thumbs Up
It's still likley that everything will still be within tolerance. Dont think you could expect perfect wear after that mileage. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Interesting. All four of mine are due to wear out at about the same time at around 25,000 miles.

Continentals, on 17" wheels.

As I thought, I have 19" Conti's I can't see me getting 25k out of them, they just don't wear as good as the Good Year Wranglers and the Wranglers are a lot better if you go off the Black Stuff. Yet the Wranglers on my last one went way over 30k and if I hadn't traded it in I had set a target of 40k.

I can't remember the last time I had a car where the tyres lasted as long as 25,000 miles, let alone 40,000!

There are quite a few on here that have done well over 30k on Wranglers, but the Conti's are poor in comparison for wear.

More importantly to me, they have never been much good when I hit standing water on a dual carriageway or motorway; I would prefer to try something else next time.
