Excellent installation AiiEEX, very glad it all worked out for you after your bad luck. Stownrow, there is a location in the top of the glove box, next to the glove box light switch, for an on/off switch. There's a picture in my gallery which might help - sorry about the blur!

I put my switch in the same place as egipp's. The hole is just behind the catch in the center of the glove box and this particular switch, held on by a ringed washer which you just tighten up by hand, fits perfectly. There are 3 spade connector type sockets: EARTH/LOAD/SUPPLY a diagram of which is which should be shown on the back of the switch. LOAD = Out to my 12v cigarette socket SUPPLY = Live from fuse box behind glove box. I used F5 with a MINI 10amp fuse with a fly lead. EARTH - There is a metal plate just behind this switch area and just below the airbag. This has 2 screws attached which I used one for the switch and the other for the 12 cigarette socket. Just make sure you don't make the same stupid mistake as I did wiring the switch wrongly ![]() The 12v socket has to be right out of the way of the glove box else it will catch. I stuck mine using double sided mounting tape and 2 one way ties on a metal bar on the top left behind the glove box area. Diagrams tell us that F19 is after a battery saver relay, so as you said "hour shut off". |
