2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Stornoway Grey

Vredestein Wintrac 4 Extreme 235 65 17

Hi guys, ive seen a post somewhere that specs pressures different to the stock landy recommendation but now i cant find it :s

Any suggestions what the front and rear pressures should be?

and it should be on the driver door opening, I don't know of any deviation from this other than some over inflating slightly to combat edge wear.

Cheers mate, i could have sworn i had read that Vred recommended different pressures to stock and the front and rears were different, i just cant find any reference of it now! Freelander 2 SE 2007 in Stornaway Grey.

On their web site Vredestein recommend using the car manufacturers specified pressure but, I was told by my local tyre supplier that with Vredestein tyres the pressure should be increased by 3 or 4 Lbs per squinch.

When I bought mine...from forum sponsor (AJS)....I was advised 4 psi extra I think!

I have often wondered about the effect of temperature on the tyre.
The standard pressures are quoted for 20ºC, what difference would be needed to inflate a tyre at 0ºC?
This may explain the difference when told a higher pressure with the Wintracs which are for low temp use.

The rule of thumb is for every 6 degrees celcius change in air temperature, your tire's inflation pressure will change by about 1 psi (up with higher temperatures and down with lower).

So if you put in 32psi in the summer at 20 degrees C then at today's temperature the 32psi will become 28-29 psi, which could lead long term to tyre edge wear.
