I'm not alright jack

A bit of help please guys.
I am looking for a spare wheel for my new car but will also need a jack. There is one for sale on fleabay for £35 +£8.50 delivery but when I put the LR number in the search engine (LR003272) Britpart come back with a price of £24.98. Am I missing something? Has anyone bought one before? Confused

Thanks Guys,
You naturally think you are getting a bargain on fleabay and that is why I am questioning the Britpart price and spec.
Regards,
John. Thumbs Up

My rules for buying stuff on eBay auctions -

Research what you want and how much it costs - see one "in the flesh" if possible to make sure it's right.

Decide on what you can afford to bid as a maximum - don't forget to include any postage costs. Check the seller's feedback record and avoid any dodgy ones.

Make one bid of your maximum.

Forget about the auction until it's over. If you don't win the thing then it was too expensive for you, if you do then you may well have a bargain.

I've bought loads of stuff - fishing, golf, motorbikes, cars by these rules.

Good luck! Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne

Good advice from rjc1944

I would add watch the auction up to the last minute if possible, if at 20 secs to go the item is still within your price limit then make your maximun bid. What if there were no hypothetical situations?

I use goofbay sniper to log my maximum bid and let it do the job for me. No need to watch the bidding as it will do the job for you up to a few seconds before the auction closes. It's free and easy to use. I have managed to win bids quite consistently recently and usually well below my maximum bid. I believe there are other snipe providers but some charge a fee.
p.s I have no business connection with goofbay. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.
- GCS Hawke - Sports, BRG, Vulcan 2.1 inj'. My toy - built it myself in 2001.

+1 for "sniping" Thumbs Up agree that as the bid goes in at the last moment it does not drive up the price with people treating the auction as a competition, and it stops you getting carried away.

quite often if you find that the seller is a business you look up their own website and the same thing will be cheaper than e-bay . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

2023 Toyota Hilux invincible X 2.8 Auto .
