Karcher Foam Lance

I have recently aquired a Karcher Foam Lance attachment, less than half price of the Gilmour foam lance, which at £50 is a bit expensive for a Sunday wash.

The bottle holds 600ml of snow foam liquid and I can easily get around the whole car with half a bottle, the foam goes on very wet, I think CG was right when he said a venturi is needed to create the foam, however, the foam itself, although it drains away over a minute or so, it does soften the dirt and take it off the surface so it is doing its job. It is also worth mentioning that the car has an excellent coating of Jett Acrylic Glos which very littel will stick too anyway, so the foam has little chance.

Might have a play around and see if air can be admitted somehow to produce more foam, I'll x-ray the nozzle next week and have a look Whistle

For less than £20 it will do what I want it to. Thumbs Up

Put your finger over the air inlet hole...it foams much better on mine.

your picture shows its not working properly...mine produces a blanket of foam..

Are you using neat snow foam or mixing with water?

In a litre bottle I use about an inch and top it up with HOT water

have you got hard water? that will kill the suds.
be sure to trap all the chemical in a portable bund do not let it go down the drain and kill the fishes.

If I was wanton with chemicals like that the environment agency would fine, me imprison me and make me pick up the eco friendly soap in the prison showers. then fine me again. then make me spend £000's on anti pollution measures before charging me for a site visit to ensure the work was done.

then they would fine me some more Evil or Very Mad At work

this one not too long ago and you can see whatit looks like after 5 - 10 minutes, plus think my lance needs a clean out. I'm using MagiFoam and it seems to the best one I;ve used, same as Nick 1 inch then top up with warm water

Boy....
Don't want you to get this the wrong way, but is this foam/detergent biodegradable?
Don't you have car wash centers?
It's like washing your laundry or carpets in the street....

PS: I know that I will upset some with my comments...

I think the onei got was biodegradable, maybe not I can't remember which one it was I bought

The car wash centre will be using very strong acids and chemical which I very much doubt they will be biodegradable

Also you then enter into the realms of do you want some bloke washing your car from dirt covered door sill to the roof line without rinsing there sponge

I would rather do it myself thanks, but each to their own
