Freelander 2 xenon retrofit

Hi all, just fitted some oem xenon headlight units to my 57 plate td4 hse and the lights flicker when the engine is running, do I need to have the software reprogrammed to enable the xenons?

No, a dealer won't/can't edit the CCF to do this.

Well, depends on the dealer...
I know a dealer that has an Autologic tool and can do this...

hi

I am thinking of a xenon upgrade.

Is the xenon balast built into the headlight ?
also, does it use the same connector as halogen lights,

just wanted to make sure I know what I need before I start the mini project Smile

are the self leveling motors not built into the headlamps? I would assume they are? If so would it not be possible to fit the leveling sensors (or infact is the wiring already there to do so?) to enable this feature.

This is something I really want to do but I want it to be right or not at all. 2007 '57' Freelander 2 XS Sumatra Black TD4 Automatic - Standard (for now!)

Indeed the motors are there and they are driven by the voltage generated by the little module that it's used for manually adjusting the height.
If you want automatic leveling, then, besides leveling sensors, you'll need to buy/install the leveling ECU too.
This is the "brain" that automatically generates that voltage needed, like you manually adjusted the light.
They came in two "flavours", with or without adaptive front system. (that light around the corner stuff)
And in the end, it may be needed to modify the car configuration file in order to register your modifications.

Would be good to hear if anyone has successfully done this and how hard it was to do, the AFS sounds good but I could take it or leave it in fairness, as was pointed out the new MOT regs require auto levelling for Xenon Lights, washers arent an issue as the FL's have this anyway. 2007 '57' Freelander 2 XS Sumatra Black TD4 Automatic - Standard (for now!)
