Many cars have bulb failure warning. My last two did, not only for stop lamps but for tail and headlamps. I've never understood why bulb failure was never standard on FL2 as

Good point! I had bulb failure warning on my old Ford Granada yonks ago....maybe CANBUS screws it all up. John

Ive seen folk driving around in the dark with no headlights at all, cant believe they dont know? I guess the failed bulb indicator only works if you actually turn them to start with. |

They always hold back on a few items to give themselves a good cheap advertising/upgrade when 201? model appears.

I think all manufacturers hold back when releasing a new model as they need to allow for minor cosmetic changes for a midlife facelift. The BMW 3 series 2005MY had LED brake lights as part of its facelift, when the completely new model was released it was back to standard lamps until that models facelift when LEDs came back! Similar story with colour coded side strips etc, black for the initial model and colour coded for the update.
