Why don't they

Why don't they include brake light failure warning to cars. Not just this mark but on all cars. One of the biggest things wrong with cars is many driving about with just one brake light working.

Many cars have bulb failure warning. My last two did, not only for stop lamps but for tail and headlamps. I've never understood why bulb failure was never standard on FL2 as
a) It's a prestige brand
b) As the power for exterior lighing is sourced from FET's, it would have cost very little to add this feature.

The bean counters/marketing dept generally drop this feature from cheaper models.

I've seen plenty of vehicles driven with a bulb out although that car has bulb failure warning.

Ive seen folk driving around in the dark with no headlights at all, cant believe they dont know? I guess the failed bulb indicator only works if you actually turn them to start with. Rolling Eyes

They always hold back on a few items to give themselves a good cheap advertising/upgrade when 201? model appears.
Ford had all the Escort 4 facelifts planned before the originaal was launched.
Its called forward planning without cost.
To me its a con. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

I think all manufacturers hold back when releasing a new model as they need to allow for minor cosmetic changes for a midlife facelift. The BMW 3 series 2005MY had LED brake lights as part of its facelift, when the completely new model was released it was back to standard lamps until that models facelift when LEDs came back! Similar story with colour coded side strips etc, black for the initial model and colour coded for the update.

Solution - dont buy a new model until the update arrives!
