Agree with BigAlf standard tyres are classed as All Season Mud & Snow and will give a reasonably good performance in all but the most extreme winter conditions - the sort not often found in the UK. I would save your money, stick with the OEM tyres and possibly invest in a set of snow socks at about £60 for the odd occasion when you need them.

The Doctor: Correct they are optimised for temperatures below 7C and in such conditions will be better than the OEM tyres. However, OEM tyres will be good enough for 90 - 95% of the time and it comes down to whether or not you can justify the cost of a second set of wheels and tyres to cover the last 5-10%. As I've mentioned before I've never needed winter tyres on my 2 Discoveries and 2 Freelander 2's in the Alps or UK but I do have snow chains and snow socks for the odd occasion when I might need them but to date never have.

I agree mate. Until the kind offer from my parents as per the link I posted, I was happy to stick with the Wranglers but I was well pleased with some free winter tyres LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

that size is for the 16" wheels on the S version I think, don't HSEs come with 18" wheels? however in winter 16 or 17 inch wheels are much less likely to get damaged thaan 18 or 19 inch wheels due to the higher sidewall, All terrains tyres in those sizes tend to have wheel rim protection beads 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Yaugher ... back to your original specific query, looks like the answer is no, even if you had 16" wheels.
