Egging

Some bright prick has smashed an egg onto my sisters car and it has dried leaving a stain running down the bodywork.

Any ideas on how to remove this. The car is black and really shows the mark - would claying, polishing and waxing help.

Cheers MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I should imagine clay bar should do the trick or good hot soapy waters! Where in the Cotswolds Do you live?

Hi tenet, second the claying, give the car a good wash, then go over it with the clay bar, think there's a good selection of them available in Halfords

Egg will etch the lacquer on the paint work, like bird Censored does

Might need a machine polish

Just searched DW, lots say the impact damage could have cracked the lacquer, dented the bodywork and the egg shell is very abrasive

This guide is supposed to work well, just get the egg off ASAP

Use a 'ammer Laughing

I would look at paintless dent removal, then if they need A resprayed look towards a time served smart repair, or on vehicle resprayed

I had a car keyed and front wing and door was £160 to fully resprayed and it was perfect, the chap in leeds who did mine wasa referral through someone on detailing world, might be worth joining and asking if they know someone in your area

Use liquid detergent, not granular as that could cause scratches too

Get hold of some "Werkstat Acrylic Glos" it's not cheap but a tiny amount goes a long way.
Once on the car very little has much chance of sticking, even bird lime simply rinses off. The whole car took me less than an hour to go over, super shiny and protective. You simply spray it on very sparingly, wipe it over the panel, allow to dry (10 mins max) and buff off. I was very sceptical about these wonder sealants but have been converted. Thumbs Up

It may have damaged the paintwork, my TD5 was egged by some little Censored , left an oval shape etched into the front wing, looked like it their had been a poor attempt at shot blasting it Evil or Very Mad
